I. Sydney Hobart Ball Correspondence, 1907 – 1949
Consists of letters written by Ball to his parents, brother, wife and daughters during his mining-related travels in different parts of the world. Among these are six notebooks containing retained copies of letters that Ball sent to his parents from 1907 to 1913, describing his expeditions in the Congo and elsewhere. There is also professional correspondence relating mainly to the publication of Ball's writings, as well as letters to Ball from his parents and brother.
II. Sydney Hobart Ball Articles and Notes, 1910 – 1949
Consists of typewritten drafts and printed articles published in professional magazines, academic journals and newspapers. There are also notes written by Ball as part of his research for these articles and 21 typescript geological reports, written by Ball as part of his work with Rogers, Mayer amp; Ball.
